Lots of exciting news to report! Casita lot 8 was recently put under contract by Sue & Pam from Indianapolis! Sue became our youngest lot purchaser at age 42, just barely inching out Lauren of Lot 16 who just recently turned 43! Welcome to our community!

I am also pleased to announce that Casita lot 11 was just put under contract by our first gay male couple, Michael & David. They currently live in Las Vegas, NV but are originally from Santa Fe and are excited to come back home after recently retiring. They will be building their casita next spring! Welcome to the "flock"! Check out their picture on our future residents page of the photo tour.

I finally have the dates for my EcoNest workshop... May 18 to May 21st, 2006. If you are interested in learning how to build with Timberframe and Straw/clay walls you may want to attend this workshop. We will be building the walls of my home during the workshop. Check out www.econest.com for more information about EcoNests and what you will learn at the workshop!

I finally got around to uploading the pictures from our September gathering of future residents! It just happened that several out-of-town lot owners were going to be in the Santa Fe area at the same time in September, so I organized a gathering. We got together in the afternoon... everyone got to meet and do a walking tour of each others lots followed by a pot-luck dinner! It was great fun!

I can't believe that I haven't done a news update since August! Time flies when you're having fun! We are now over 50% sold out with 10 of 18 lots sold! I'm really excited that the first three homes being built in the community will be EcoNests... mine, Catherine & Jan (lot 5) and Ellen & Susan (lot 18)! EcoNests are environmentally friendly, healthy homes that are now featured in our community! Each time we build an EcoNest it will include a workshop on Building for Health Naturally: How to Create an Authentic Home! For more information about EcoNests or the workshops offered, please visit www.econest.com

I have decided to postpone building my home (an Econest) until next spring. Several buyers have indicated an interest in building in the spring, so it is to everyone's advantage to build at the same time. I've recently sold another single family lot (15) which puts us at 50% sold now. I have several showings scheduled into October. So, if you're interested in reserving your place in our community, please call or write to schedule a time for a visit.

Phase II lots will not be available for another two or three years! We've recently updated our photo tour pages with some new pictures. They are at the bottom of each category of pictures, so scroll down to see the new pictures. There are some fun ones of our first camping weekend at Birds in June. Some of our future residents attended as well as friends from Santa Fe.

I've been quite busy this summer with lot showings and designing my "Econest" with architect, Paula Baker-Laporte and her husband, Robert, a timber-framer and healthy home builder. If all goes according to plan, we will begin building in late August or early September and I will be moving in to my new home next spring. It also looks like the buyers of Lot 5 will be building their Econest next spring and we may even have a casita or two started then, too.

If you would like more information about Econests, please visit our Home Design page or scroll to the bottom of our Home page (the first page of our site) for a link to a video of an Econest Workshop I attended in Colorado in May. The video also has pictures of finished Econest exteriors and interiors.

I couldn't believe that it has been 3 months since I last updated this section. We have been very busy creating a new website which was launched about 2 weeks ago and talking and showing the property to prospect future residents. Lot sales continue to be steady. Mary from Ohio closed on Lot 10 in March and it looks like Lot 5 will be going under contract yet this week. It's not too late to be a part of Phase I. We have started laying out lots for Phase II, but don't anticipate that we will be able to start selling lots in Phase II for another 2 to 3 years (the approval process is lengthy). So, call or write with your questions or to schedule a visit! Everything is green and beautiful and the wildflowers have started to bloom.

Not too much to report except that we have been blessed with more moisture in the past several months than we've had for years... rain and snow! After about three years of below average precipitation, this is a very good thing. The snow doesn't stay for very long because we have over 300 days of sunshine on average in New Mexico. We can now look forward to a very green spring with lots of wonderful wild flowers and native grasses on our property. April and May should be fabulous months to visit and as a bonus, it looks like Cris Williamson will be back in Santa Fe for a concert sometime this spring. Stay tuned for more information... as soon as we have a date, I'll post it here.

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!!

Wow... I can't believe it's already 2005! Happy New Year! I'm very excited about this coming year because we will finally begin to build some homes in the community. I'm currently beginning the design process for my new home and I know that Ellen (Lot 18) has also started to design her home. I will also begin some landscaping projects this spring and the installation of an electronic entry gate!
