Happy 4th of July 2005!

I've been quite busy this summer with lot showings and designing my "Econest" with architect, Paula Baker-Laporte and her husband, Robert, a timber-framer and healthy home builder. If all goes according to plan, we will begin building in late August or early September and I will be moving in to my new home next spring. It also looks like the buyers of Lot 5 will be building their Econest next spring and we may even have a casita or two started then, too.

If you would like more information about Econests, please visit our Home Design page or scroll to the bottom of our Home page (the first page of our site) for a link to a video of an Econest Workshop I attended in Colorado in May. The video also has pictures of finished Econest exteriors and interiors.

Unfortunately, I must also report that the cost of the casitas increased by another ten percent this year. Seems that building costs just continue to escalate year after year. I attribute that to the continuing rise in real estate prices and home building across most parts of the country, but particularly in the Southwest and the Santa Fe area. I have not yet increased the price of lots and they continue to appraise for much more than their sales price. I consider the lot buyers in Phase I my pioneers because they have to visualize the community until we start home building.

If you would like to visit the property, please call or send me an e-mail with your preferred dates. I will do my best to accommodate your preferences. There are currently only 10 lots (3 casita & 7 single family) left in Phase I.
