My thanks to everyone who has supported me and my project

this past year... it is greatly appreciated.

Check out our photo tour pages! We have recently separated them into five categories because there are so many pictures now. The newest pictures are from our Ground-Breaking Ceremony/Fiesta that was held on September 12th! There are lots of great pictures of people... friends, neighbors and future residents... and even a few of Cris Williamson!

We're continuing to work on making Birds of a Feather a very magical and special community. We've enclosed the entrance to the community in split-rail fencing with low-impact landscape lighting and rock work. It looks fabulous! Come visit and check out our property with magnificent mountain views and acres of land to explore!

We've been experiencing several server issues in the last couple months, some of which I was aware of and some not. I have recently discovered that there was a period of about 3-4 weeks when I was not receiving submissions to our mailing list or surveys. So, if you sent a mailing list submission in late September or early October, it is unlikely that I received it. I apologize for any inconvenience. Also, I just discovered a few days ago that all of my news updates since July have disappeared. Fortunately, all of the problems have now been discovered and fixed (I hope).

Birds of a Feather has finally taken flight! Everything continues to take a little bit longer than expected, but it is happening! Contractors have been busy digging trenches for power, telephone and water lines during the past 6 weeks and they have finally begun laying the cable. The plumber has begun installation of the water lines and we anticipate completion of everything except the roads by mid-August. After the roads are completed, we can start some of the fun stuff like landscaping in the community areas!

Everything is back on track and moving forward... finally! The first two lots (2 & 18) were sold on May 14th! I will be building my home on lot 5.

The infrastructure will be started on June 1st and should be completed in about 3 to 4 weeks. Then the roads will be finished and street signs will go up... custom signs with carved letters and silhouettes of birds sitting on the top!

I can't believe that it has been almost 2 months since I filed the final plat and updated this page! I have been extremely busy finishing and filing all of our documents with the county and getting all of the infrastructure improvements scheduled. We will also be closing on the first two lots (2 & 18) in a few weeks! Some of the lots currently "reserved" may become available since the reservations must now be converted to a purchase agreement.

We filed our final plat on February 17th! We can now "officially" begin lot and home sales! Another lot (16) was reserved last weekend by a couple from Bermuda and there are several more interested parties visiting the property in the next several weeks!

Check out our photo tour page... we have added a few new photos recently and will be updating it regularly now that we finally have a fabulous new webmaster! If any of you need help with your websites or want help creating one, I would highly recommend Emily at i3 design.

Things are finally moving forward at Birds of a Feather. Our plate will be filed with the county this week and lot and home sales will begin immediately thereafter. There are currently 6 lots reserved and we have many showings scheduled into April. If you are interested in visiting, please call or send an e-mail to make an appointment.

Infrastructure improvements are scheduled for this spring. We will also be starting to do some of the fun stuff like landscaping and trail making. We are also currently thinning our forest to create wildlife habitat improvements, protection against wildfires, fewer trees competing for water and opening up magnificent views of the surrounding Sangre de Cristo mountains!

THE SUPREME COURT OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO DENIED THE PETITION APPEALING OUR SUBDIVISION APPROVAL ON DECEMBER 29TH 2003. We are finally finished with a very long legal process and can now move forward with our plans to create our community! What a fabulous way to start the New Year!

And on that note... I wish all of you a very happy, healthy, peaceful and joyous New Year! I will be sending monthly online newsletters to keep you up to date with the plans for our community, so if you haven't yet signed up for our mailing list and wish to receive updates... please sign up now!
