Happy Thanksgiving 2012
I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family!
I have been quite busy with many inquiries and showings since I last updated my blog in June. At that time, I was pretty confident that the economy had begun to stabilize, but now I feel even more strongly that things are headed in the right direction. Housing prices are not only stabilizing, but are even beginning to rise in several areas of the country.
I recently sold another lot in Phase II of our community and we have a new home scheduled to begin construction in April, 2013 and another EcoNest scheduled for 2014. It feels good to have some forward movement again. I'm also working on an idea that I hope will appeal to some of you that are interested in Birds of a Feather, but that want a smaller home that we have not previously offered.

Summer solstice and pride week
Wishing you a very magical summer solstice and happy pride week! Summer in New Mexico! Gay Pride week and next week-end is our Pride Parade in Santa Fe. There are dances and train rides and events galore! We also have several fabulous markets during the summer months in Santa Fe... Folk Art, Spanish and Indian Markets to name just a few.
This is a great time to visit our area and we invite you to schedule a time to visit Birds of a Feather Community while you are here. Our property showings have definitely been picking up recently... a good sign that the economy is finally stabilizing and housing prices are even starting to rise a bit in some areas of the country!

Architect and Designers
We are pleased to announce that we have finally completed our home design collaboration with architect, Dave Madden of EcoNest Designs of Santa Fe and award winning builder, Mark Giorgetti of Palo Santo Designs and will soon be offering our first lot and home package featuring two new fabulous floor-plans for some of our Hawk's Landing (phase II) home sites! We are calling these homes "Los Nidos" or "the nests" because of their smaller size (1280 & 1450 sq. ft.) and also because they will be "feathered" with healthy and eco-friendly materials throughout!

Spring is just around the corner!
I'm feeling very optimistic that spring is just around the corner! Today is the first day of our spring wind and the trees are already starting to bud. We have been working these past few winter months on designing a couple of new, smaller floorplans for some of our newly approved lots in phase II. We are now in the process of choosing a builder for these homes and pricing them. We believe that you will love the new plans, as well as our new lots... from 1/2 acre to 2+acres with magnificent views of the surrounding Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
