Happy New Year 2014!
Belated wishes for a very happy new year in 2014!
New Mexico ended 2013 with our Supreme Court legalizing same sex marriages in December. Must admit that I didn't think that I would see same sex marriages happen in my lifetime, let alone in (17) ? states so far. I'm not even sure that number is correct, as a few other states have had federal judges decide to overturn bans on same sex marriages in their states and appeals are pending. Seems like this issue will eventually be decided by the United States Supreme Court.
I'm also happy to report that I have been quite busy with inquiries and tours of our community once again. Things definitely slowed down (here & everywhere) during the recession, but are picking up nicely now with two recent lot sales (lots 5 & 6 of Phase II) and many visits/tours already planned for this spring! Now you can come to New Mexico, buy a lot at Birds of a Feather and get married!
A couple of our lot owners have plans to begin construction of their home soon and I'm currently getting a set of construction drawings prepared for our newest Little House plans. This will allow me to get bids from a few of our approved builders, so I can give people interested in our Little Houses a much better idea of the cost to build. I have several interested parties waiting to get more information on pricing. It would be beneficial to get at least two or more Little Houses scheduled to begin construction (this year, hopefully) at the same time and with the same builder, as there would be cost savings for all! The Little House floor plan and exterior elevation is available to see on our Energy Efficient Homes page. Please call or send me an e-mail if you are interested in getting pricing on the Little House when it becomes available.
Of course, we have other floor plans available for you to choose from or you may design and build a custom home on most lots. Our lots range in size from 1/4 to 3+ acres and all are wooded with magnificent mountain or meadow views. Pricing of our Phase II lots is available on our lot layout page. I also have some re-sale lots available in Phase I that are not currently listed on the website. Please contact me for more information about these fabulous lots.
I'm thrilled to be moving forward once again with many more lot sales and homes to be built in our community in 2014 and beyond!
