Our LGBT community began more than seventeen years ago as a vision by its founder and developer, Bonnie McGowan, to create a haven for people of like minds... those who care about environmentally responsible living, an active and healthy lifestyle and forming strong social connections when we need them the most... as we are aging.

Birds of a Feather's gated community is located just outside the charming Village of Pecos on 140 acres of pine-forested land with outstanding natural beauty and magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We are also only a short distance to gay-friendly Santa Fe... a city well known for its history of tolerance, stimulating cultural environment, world class restaurants and an art scene with few rivals.  In fact, The Advocate magazine ranked Santa Fe as the second "gayest" city in America in 2011.

But, our community is much more than beautiful property and a fabulous location... it is the people who make our community special.  Our LGBT residents are multi-generational, fun-loving and care about each other as neighbors and family.
